Recommendations for Mexican visa procedures and access to the country

 

Foreign citizens who present any of the following documents do not require a visa to travel to the country:

  1. Document proving permanent residence in Canada, the United States of America, Japan, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, any of the countries of the Schengen Area, as well as in the member countries of the Pacific Alliance: Chile, Colombia and Peru.
  2. Valid visa from Canada, the United States of America, Japan, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland or any of the countries that make up the Schengen Area.

It is recommended that you apply for your visa at least three months before your trip.

Documents required to apply for a Mexican visa

  • Original and valid passport (we recommend a minimum validity of 6 months after the date of your trip).
  • A passport or ID size photograph (dimensions: 3 x 4 cm).
  • Visa application form duly completed.
  • Invitation letter to participate in the 9th International Congress of Anthropology AIBR 2023, to be issued by UNAM and AIBR.
  • Original documents with copy, which prove that the applicant has the necessary experience and knowledge to carry out the activities for which they are invited.
  • Proof of financial solvency (bank statements or recent pay stubs).

Documents that must be presented at the immigration screening to enter the country:

  • Valid passport or identity card (valid for at least 6 months after the date of your trip).
  • Multiple Migratory Form (FMM) duly completed. The FMM can be obtained free of charge on the plane or at the point of entry into Mexico to be stamped by the immigration authorities.
  • Proof of the reason for the trip, in this case, the Invitation letter. In addition, the name of the person in charge of the Conference and his/her contact information (e-mail and telephone), as well as the name of the Conference.
  • It is recommended that you have the address and dates of your accommodation or the booking information of your hotel, as well as your ticket to and from your country.
